SLC Lost Coin
9/7/10

Doen continued his discussion on cause and effect.
The world is not doing anything to us, generally we effect what happens to us. He asked us to discuss two situations.

Consider a situation I am not satisfied with and look at how I create (cause) that situation. What can I do to change the situation.

What situation would I like to occur and what can I do to create (cause) what I want.

Be the cause of the change For the next week live as "I am the person at cause in my life. For a week I am going to act like it".
We will discuss this at the next meeting.
Be conscious. Act on what you want in order to cause change in your life.

Members discussed situations and their participation in "cause and effect". Doen pointed out several causes...Don't be afraid to ask for what is wanted, learn to work together, be aware that it is not possible to make everyone happy:) Whether in a relationship or not, an individual may believe they do not have the right to want what is desired and to ask for it. Patterns of relationships with siblings, sister in particular, were discussed and concrete effects were encourage by Doen. Keep these "cause and effect" investigations concrete, not abstract.

This is an exercise in consciousness. When we say "this is happening to me" we are being unconscious.
Be conscious of underlying fear.
Doen signed off and we continued the discussion.
Relationships with siblings/sisters and our participation in the cause and effect, being concrete and recognizing the emotions of fear/anger/judgment/lack of patience. Remember we can't change (reform) another person (sister). This can be an opportunity for our LCZ practice.
Joan reminded us of the 4th way teachings and to remember that people are mechanical. Recognize patterns in our causing.

Areas of life in which to be conscious include relationship, family, work, financial, work, and fear. Desire to change/effect (how we can cause a desired effect) prompt us to explore and "sample" how we want to effect a change.

Remember assignment for next week..."I am the person at cause in my life".
And remember Liz as she starts her run (Friday morning) up and down hill and dale for 100 wonderful miles.
